1 Article 1: General
1.1 Section 1: Preparations;
§1.0; Teamspeak Client; Every support member from Supporter rank and above is required to set up the prescribed ban templates in Teamspeak at the beginning of their support duties or upon promotion to Supporter. A tutorial in the forum is available to assist with setting up the correct ban templates and should be used.
1.2 Section 2: Behavior;
§1.0; The Customer is King; In general: Every member and every user of RN must be treated with the utmost kindness and friendliness. Misbehavior by users does not justify abandoning or forgetting this kindness or professionalism.
§2.0; Duty to Act; Every support member is obligated to address and deal with any form of misbehavior and support issues, whether it involves a team member or a user without ranks/rights.
§3.0; Addressing; All support members, including support apprentices, are required to address any support-seeking case in the support area with the formal address “Sie.” The informal “Du” is prohibited when addressing support-seekers. The “Du” may be used between colleagues in the support area as long as no support-seeker is present. In the community area, support members are generally allowed to address users informally and can use “Du” with users.
§4.0; Handling User Data; If a support member requires user data for support purposes, they are expected to handle it discreetly.
§5.0; De-escalatory Behavior; Every support member is instructed to de-escalate critical situations and mediate disputes, especially when self-resolution by the support-seeker has failed.
§6.0; Self-Resolution; Every support member is instructed to refer support-seekers to self-resolution first when dealing with interpersonal issues. If this does not work, or if self-resolution does not yield results, the case may then be addressed (only then does a support case exist).
§7.0; Punishment; A ban or punishment should always encourage reflection on one's behavior. Supporters should not use their freedom to impose punishments as a means of revenge. Personal views on the offense should not play a role when applying a ban. Only the severity of the offense should determine the punishment. Supporters who continually impose maximum punishment for offenses have not understood this rule and will likely not remain support members for long.
§8.0; Hierarchy; Supporters must always follow the instructions of higher-ranked members. Instructions that are unreasonable, harmful, or against our principles may be refused but must then be reported to the department head.
